Bigger, safer and just as fun as before, the Ford KA+ is all about making the most of the everyday. It’s available in two trim levels and there are lots of optional extras so you can make it your own.
Smooth, curved lines and subtle contours sum up the sporty KA+. Ford has given it a more confident stance with a bolder nose, marked by a wide front grille, a slim front air intake and angular headlights. Daytime running lights are a standard feature that ensure you’re never missed on the road, as are electrically-operated door mirrors with side indicators for added sophistication.
Ford has given the Ka a big overhaul, quite literally, with the KA+. Inside, there’s room for up to five (there were only four seats in the previous version), and five doors means it’s easy to get into the back. It feels more high-tech than before too, with a dock for holding your smartphone within your line of sight and an array of controls on the central console that are illuminated in a cool blue. The driving position is more laidback with the steering wheel placed by your knee, making it comfortable for longer journeys. The Zetec has air conditioning to keep you cool, and there’s the option to add climate control and heated seats for the ultimate comfort.
The new 1.2-litre Ti-VCT engine has been designed to be more fuel efficient than its predecessor, achieving up to 56mpg on the combined cycle. A handy gear shift indicator helps you to save on fuel by telling you the optimum time to shift. Entry level Studio models get a 70bhp unit, while the Zetecs also have the option of an 85bhp version which has a quicker acceleration time of 0-60mph in approximately 13 seconds.
