Motability – how it works

Since 1978, the Motability Scheme has helped millions of people exchange their mobility benefits for a three-year lease on a brand new car. Having your own car is a liberating experience, helping you keep mobile and stay in touch with friends and family. Working together with Ford and the Motability charity, we provide high-quality, practical Ford cars for drivers with disabilities.

First step: book an appointment

To benefit from this fantastic scheme, all you have to do is book an appointment at your nearest Allen Ford dealership. Each of our thirteen dealerships includes a team of Motability experts dedicated to helping you find the ideal Ford car. You can arrange to meet one of them by booking online using the form provided, or simply give us a call.

Step two: choosing your Ford

One of our friendly and approachable team members will guide you through our stock, explaining which model is best suited to your requirements. They will also give advice on any adaptions that may help with day-to-day usability.

We're dedicated to helping you drive away in your preferred Ford car, and our zero advance payment policy will make sure you find the car best suited to your motoring needs. There's no need to worry about costs; our Motability experts will be on-hand to deliver step-by-step guidance on finance options – making your lease both affordable and easy.

Step three: ordering and aftercare

After you have chosen your new Ford vehicle, your Motability specialist will use the Motability Scheme's online system to complete the leasing order. After a short period, you will then receive an acceptance letter complete with your unique Personal Identification Number. Make sure you keep that number, as you will need to it to confirm your lease when you collect your Ford.
